I do not treat diseases. I detect and correct the vertebral subluxation. I believe the body has with in it the innate ability to be healthy. This ability may be compromised by the vertebral subluxation. My job is to find and reduce the vertebral subluxation to restore the integrity of the nervous system and allow the body to return to its optimal state of health.
My office protocols are to examine my patients with the appropriate level of case history, physical/neurological and/or x-ray studies to arrive at my initial diagnosis. As the patient progresses through the prescribed treatment plan they will be monitored through neurologic testing to assess their progress.
Treatment in my office is primarily manual adjustment of the spine and appendicular skeleton. Adjunctive manual manipulation of soft tissue in the form of trigger point stimulation, manual traction and instrument manipulation is applied to cases as the need arises. Modalities such as ultra sound and EMS are utilized (rarely) as clinically indicated.
I believe the vertebral subluxation should reduced and the patient released from therapeutic care as soon as possible. Additional care on a support schedule may be indicated in cases of permanent injury.
Wellness checks will occur as often as necessary. The timing of these visits is driven by the special circumstances of each individual case.
My primary adjusting technique is called the Thompson technique. It is a system of drop piece adjusting that is low force and high velocity. The use of the drop piece on the table reduces the sensation of pain in the patient. They usually do not feel the segment pop when it is adjusted. (I built my practice as the guy that didn’t crack necks.)
Sometimes I will utilize Activator Methods technique to determine where to adjust. In specific cases I use the Activator Methods instrument to adjust the patient. It is low force high velocity adjusting instrument. This method is used on people who are too sensitive to be adjusted manually. I also use the activator on children when needed.
I have completed a three year, 350 hour, course in chiropractic orthopedics. This is an advanced course in examination, diagnosis and treatment of joint injuries.
I am a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (C.C.E.P.). C.C.E.P. is an advanced certificate requiring 60hours of class time and a certification examination. The course of study is the examination and treatment of injuries to the joints of the arms, legs and ribs.
I am also a Level II Reiki practitioner. Reiki is a method treating ailments using energy.
